Kobe Bryant signs a 2-year $48 million extension to remain with the Lakers

Laker for life…

Breathe easy Laker fans, Kobe Bean Bryant will most assuredly retire in your beloved purple and gold. The Los Angeles Lakers have announced the signing of the 35-year old Bryant to a deal which will pay him $23.5 million in 2014-15 and $25 million in 2015-16.

The signing of the 15-time All-Star puts to rest any chance of him seeking free agency after this season. This is high risk move by the Lakers as Bryant is set to return from a torn Achilles. He has resumed basketball activities and practiced with the team, but has not yet been cleared to play.

As long as Kobe is able to play, he should do so with the Lakers…
