@TSFSports Week 10 NFL Picks: Jameis Winston and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Are Looking To Scale New Heights

(Getty Images)

No one had a more forgettable rookie debut than Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston. The number one overall pick’s first pass in the NFL was intercepted and returned for a touchdown. Even worse was watching Heisman Trophy winner and second overall pick Marcus Mariota toss four touchdowns and yet again defeat a team led by himself.

Since the opener, Winston has made huge strides, leading the Buccaneers to a 2-2 record (3-5 overall) over the last month — which included a 23-20 thriller over the division leading Atlanta Falcons. As for the turnovers, Winston hasn’t tossed a pick in over a month. In that span, Winston is 69 for 113 (61%) good for 930 yards, four touchdowns (two rushing) and a QB Rating of 99.1. The streak is the third longest in team history. Winston looks to improve on the streak, but more importantly lead the Bucs to a victory this Sunday over the visiting Dallas Cowboys.

Byes: Colts, Chargers, Falcons and Niners.

Buffalo Bills 22 – NY Jets 17 – The Bills were fueled by a solid running game led by LeSean McCoy’s 112 yards and a stifling defense to secure a win for coach Rex Ryan — who faced his former team for the first time.

Detroit Lions (1-7) at Green Bay Packers (6-2) – The Packers can toss Paul Hornung in their backfield and it wouldn’t matter against these paper Lions.

Prediction: Packers 31 – Lions 17

Dallas Cowboys (2-6) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-5) – The Cowboys season reaches a new low today.

Prediction: Bucs 24 – Cowboys 20

Carolina Panthers (8-0) at Tennessee Titans (2-6) – The Titans stood tall against the Saints last week, the Panthers have to start fast in what will be a tough road contest.

Prediction: Panthers 26 – Titans 10

Chicago Bears (3-5) at St. Louis Rams (4-4) – I’m going against all logic here in believing Jay Cutler can lead the Bears to an important road victory.

Prediction: Bears 22 – Rams 17

New Orleans Saints (4-5) at Washington (3-5) – With the Saints back in the playoff picture, expect Drew Brees to turn it up again this week.

Prediction: Saints 33 – Washington 20

Miami Dolphins (3-5) at Philadelphia Eagles (4-4) – The Eagles need to handle the Dolphins before they can start scoreboard watching.

Prediction: Eagles 27 – Dolphins 13

Cleveland Browns (2-7) at Pittsburgh Steelers (5-4) – Antonio Brown may go off again this week, but I believe the Browns sneak out of the Steel City with a win.

Prediction: Browns 24 – Steelers 22

Jacksonville Jaguars (2-6) at Baltimore Ravens (2-6) – The Jaguars will continue to open eyes in the second half of the season.

Prediction: Jags 26 – Ravens 14

Minnesota Vikings (6-2) at Oakland Raiders (4-4) – Game of the day right here. Teddy Bridgewater will be a go today. Al Davis would be absolutely nuts over Derek Carr. Great game between to rising young stars.

Prediction: Raiders 27 – Vikings 24 OT

New England Patriots (8-0) at NY Giants (5-4) – Not today!

Prediction: Patriots 35 – Giants 17

Kansas City Chiefs (3-5) at Denver Broncos (7-1) – Which Broncos running back shows up this week?

Prediction: Broncos 27 – Chiefs 23

Arizona Cardinals (6-2) at Seattle Seahawks (4-4) – The Cardinals are capable are winning this game on the road, I think the Seahawks see the season slipping away and have to come out swinging.

Prediction: Seahawks 23 – Cardinals 19

Monday, November 16, 2015

Houston Texans (3-5) at Cincinnati Bengals (8-0) – I guess I can forgo the first hour of this one to watch ‘Gotham’.

Prediction: Bengals 29 – Texans 12

2015 Season: 42-32

Ron Glover and Michael Tillery pick Week 10.
