@TSFSports Thanksgiving Day Picks: Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers Are Coming to Eat

This week Cam Newton provided a Thanksgiving meal for 900 children. Today Newton and the Carolina Panthers look to feast on the Dallas Cowboys.

NFL fans will leave the table stuffed and ready to take in a heavy dose of football. The day kicks off with the Philadelphia Eagles on the road to face the Detroit Lions — who are hosting their 95th game on Turkey Day.

Next the Carolina Panthers take their 10-0 record to AT&T Stadium to face the suddenly healthy Dallas Cowboys, inspired by the return of quarterback Tony Romo.

Finally, the Green Bay Packers host the Chicago Bears. The highlight of this game comes at halftime when the team honors Brett Favre by retiring his number.

Family, food and football, in that order.

Philadelphia Eagles (4-6) at Detroit Lions (3-7) – The Lions have won two in a row while the Eagles are trying to rebound from last week’s embarrassing loss. There’s a lot of negativity and restlessness in the Eagles locker room. If the rumors are true concerning the team’s displeasure with Chip Kelly, they’ve already packed it in.

Prediction: Lions 24 – Eagles 14

Carolina Panthers (10-0) at Dallas Cowboys (3-7) – To have the Cowboys favored today is flat-out disrespectful. The Panthers offense will face a stiff test from the Dallas pass rush, but I like the intangibles Carolina possesses.

Prediction: Panthers 31 – Cowboys 20

Chicago Bears (4-6) at Green Bay Packers (7-3) – Everything seems to be back to normal in Packer Land. Even Eddie Lacy is looking spry. The Bears blew a golden opportunity last week against a Denver Broncos team in transition. Tonight, Lambeau Field is about five letters, F-A-V-R-E.

Prediction: Packers 31 – Bears 22
